Our Founder Member

Ursula passed away suddenly on 18th/19th February 2009 

Ursula Kiernan, Founder Member of Slipstream Poets, was 83 years old and had in recent suffered increasingly from Parkinson’s Disease.  

Ursula published her first poem when she was seven years old. Her jobs were many and various. Perhaps heading up the Copywriting Department for S H Benson in Bombay was the high spot. During the last ten years she published four full collections. These are FISH THAT SING (1999) ONLY SICILIAN LEMONS (2003) THE HOUSE OF THE LEFT-HAND DOOR (2005) and ON THE WILD SIDE OF THE MOON (2008).  

She will be sadly missed not only by Slipstream Poets but by many others in literary circles who have a particular interest in poetry.
