Adjudicator – Fay Marshall

Fay is the author of three poetry collections: ‘and’ (Envoi Poets Publication) ‘Mapping the Debris’ (National Poetry Foundation) and ‘After the Battle’ (Scriptora). She has been widely published in leading magazines and anthologies and her poetry has been translated and published in Russian. She has conducted workshops for, among others, N.A.W.G (National Association of Writers Groups) and S.W.W.J (Society of Women Writers and Journalists). She has won many prizes and awards and her work has been read at poetry events around southern England as well as at the National Theatre and on Radio 4.

 

Rules

  • Poems on the theme ‘Encounters’ must be previously unpublished, not exceed 60 lines, carry no means of identifying the author and be received by the Competition Secretary no later than 31st January 2012 . Multiple entries are permitted and each poem must be on separate sheets.
  • Name of the competitor & title(s) of poem(s) must be clearly listed on the Entry Form to which a cheque for the total entry fee should be attached. £3 per poems, 4 for £10 or 6 for £12.
  • Correct postage must be used at all times. Failure to do so will disqualify the entry.
  • The copyright of all poems remains with the author. However, unless otherwise arranged with the Competition Secretary, authors of winning poems agree to allow inclusion of their poems on the Slipstream web site in the 2012 Competition Results Section .
  • Prize Money will be paid in pounds sterling; entry fees must likewise be paid in pounds sterling. (By arrangement with Comp. Sect. overseas entries can be settled by PayPal – additional charge)

 

Additional Local Prize

All West Sussex entrants will, in addition, be judged by Jean Harvey and the best poem by a West Sussex entrant will be awarded The Jim Johnston ‘Chanctonbury Cup’ and a separate prize of £25.00.

                           West Sussex entrants must submit 2 copies of each poem entered
