3rd Prize - £75- Lynn Strugnell of Woodingdean
In a landscape
View the village church from fields and between trees
pale sky full of the moon blooming the pole star glints above yellow cowslips
wide 180 degree view for a bee and a crow and a helicopter
chalk paths crossing the downs a feathery incline - then
rattle down a slope with horseshoe prints
red berries bend near a stile grey lichen covering the post
flinty traffic noise rumbles down a dark path full of dead tangles
doc leaves and brambles litter-green plastic swarming with flies
steep heat pounding only the distance has cool blue hills
rest - walk and rest by the wire
butterfly blossom so pink and white ends in a vapour trail at the brow of the hill.
